  • Stupp Bridge announced a $2.7 million expansion in Warren County yesterday that will add 15 full-time jobs and integrate an adjacent supply chain to boost its Bowling Green operations. CULTURE NEWS

  • This month marks the 165th anniversary of Kentucky-born Lincoln’s inauguration, which saw him receive only 1,364 votes in a split local election, and Bowling Green later experienced Confederate occupation near Kereiakes Park and the L&N Depot during early 1862.   • Renowned professor Sylvia Kersenbaum, who taught in WKU’s music department for 30 years and performed with major orchestras worldwide, died at 84. No services are planned (her legacy endures in local and global arts).  Bowling Green Daily News

  • Lane closures are in effect as crews begin work on the U.S. 31-W Bypass project in Bowling Green. Officials say the project (a key traffic improvement effort) aims to ease congestion and boost safety, with further details expected soon.  WBKO
  • Governor Andy Beshear ordered flags lowered to half-staff today to honor Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, a Kentucky soldier who died while supporting Operation Epic Fury, and a private inurnment will be held (at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central).  WBKO

  • Dr. Rachel Bryant at Tristar Greenview Hospital said that colon cancer symptoms can be subtle and adults aged 45 or older should get screened during Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. The report notes that treatment may include surgery and other options if cancer is found.  WNKY
  • Dr. Rachel Bryant (a general surgeon) at Tristar Greenview Hospital says many colon cancer cases show few signs including blood in the stool.
