ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Three tornadoes hit nearby counties Sunday night, with two low-end EF-0 events in Logan and Butler counties and an EF-1 near Richardsville. Emergency crews reported no injuries and have since restored power and cleared debris. Bowling Green Daily News

- ➤ Gov. Andy Beshear announced on March 5 that Kentucky State Police joined Team Kentucky’s Stop Scams initiative to share educational resources and victim services. The effort aims to fight scams that reportedly cost locals over $74 million yearly. WBKO
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Michael West of Tristar Greenview Hospital says that while colorectal cancer cases are declining for residents 65 and older, increasing processed food consumption and screenings have led to diagnoses in those under 65. He advises starting colonoscopy screenings at age 45 or ten years before a relative’s diagnosis. WNKY
- ➤ The Medical Center performed its 500th minimally invasive heart pump procedure using the Impella device to support weak hearts, said cardiologist Dr. Sardar Ijaz. The milestone helped a cancer patient receive needed surgery and shows improved care at the hospital. WNKY
- ➤ Kentucky’s WIC program will roll out new food packages this month to give families more flexible food choices, including more whole grains and reduced juice portions.
