  • Tuesday, several Western Kentucky University social work students presented a check to Life Skills Wellness Connection to support local efforts in Bowling Green — the donation came after a professor recognized a community need and inspired students to engage directly with those in need. Dr. Jay Gabbard said the project helps students gain real-world experience while Life Skills manager Amy Hintonay said the effort sparks a cycle of support.  WNKY

CRIME NEWS

  • Sarah D’Auria, 27, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Bowling Green to charges of conspiring to steal prescription medications from a Glasgow distributor and to distribute controlled substances—she will be sentenced on June 9.  Bowling Green Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • BGISD board approved its four-year facilities plan last week, which calls for a new W.R. McNeill Elementary and a new Potter Gray Elementary—each with a storm shelter—to be built after 2028 and includes renovations and security upgrades at BGJHS and other schools scheduled between 2026 and 2028. The district will hold a public hearing on March 31 at 5:30 p.m. before a special session vote at 6 p.m. to finalize detailed construction plans.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • Lottery officials announced that a Bowling Green resident won $50,000 in the Powerball drawing on Monday night after buying a ticket at Five Star (7288 Louisville Road) in Bowling Green; the winner must sign the ticket and claim the prize at headquarters in Louisville within 180 days.  WNKY

  • A traffic light on Louisville Road right before the bridge went out Tuesday, and drivers are told to treat the intersection as a four-way stop while Bowling Green Public Works addresses the outage.  WNKY
