ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday afternoon at 1:55 p.m., a vehicle collision on I-65 southbound (mile marker 14) sent three children to MedCenter while a fire truck on scene was struck from behind, with no fire department personnel injured.  WBKO
  • A fatal collision on I-165 near mile marker 14 killed at least one person yesterday around 2 p.m.—closing the northbound lane and diverting traffic at Exit 7 onto Morgantown Road in Bowling Green.  WBKO

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Heavy storms have caused flooding across parts of Bowling Green—making roads unsafe and raising concerns about property damage. Officials are monitoring the situation and plan to issue updates as they clear the water.  WBKO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Thursday, the Warren Fiscal Court approved an ordinance that will impose a license fee on insurance companies to raise more than $4 million a year for upgrades to volunteer fire departments and for hiring part-time firefighters starting July 1. The court also approved spending over $1.7 million to purchase three 3,000-gallon tanker trucks—steps aimed at boosting fire response times and ultimately lowering local insurance costs.  Bowling Green Daily News
