  • Child welfare advocates report a growing shortage of foster parents that leaves many children without stable homes, causing agencies to turn away placements and send kids far from their families. EDUCATION NEWS

  • In the past month, two decisions are changing school funding — on Feb. 19, the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled public funds cannot support charter schools, and in late February lawmakers passed HB 1 to allow tax credit scholarships.   • WKU hosted clinical psychologist Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary in the Alumni Center Ballroom on Tuesday, March 10 to explain how understanding anxiety can help build resilience.   • Twenty-five Hilltoppers participated in WKU’s Pro Day at the new Tim and Sarah Ford Fieldhouse on Tuesday — NFL scouts from around 10 teams measured and tested skills including throwing, speed and strength.
