- ➤ Western Kentucky University students will host the annual Dance Big Red event on Friday, March 6 from 6 pm to 12 am at the Preston Center-Campus Recreation & Wellness. The six-hour fundraiser will feature student dancers & athlete performances to raise funds for Norton Children’s Hospital. WNKY
- ➤ During Severe Storm Awareness Week, officials in Warren and Barren counties urge families to review emergency plans as spring severe weather season approaches. They advise checking for safe shelter spots, stocked kits, and knowing the difference between a tornado watch & warning. WBKO
- ➤ BG Resource Connections Village, presented by Empowerment Group + Making A Difference, is helping older adults in Bowling Green stay independent by connecting them with transport, tech classes, and social support. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ United Way of Southern Kentucky is hosting its annual Read United program by sending over 100 volunteers to three dozen schools to read to pre-K and kindergarten students across five counties. - ➤ BGISD has announced that long-time educator Donald (D.G.) Sherrill will retire on June 30 after a 34-year career that included teaching, coaching, and administration. He helped expand student support services during his nine years in the central office. WNKY
- ➤ Farmers RECC has opened applications for eight one-time $1,000 scholarships for local students; three are reserved (Barren County) and four for nearby counties plus one at-large. Applicants with a Farmers RECC membership must apply by May 1, with winners drawn early May. WCLU Radio
