  • On Friday, Feb. 27, students from South Warren, Greenwood, Warren East and Warren Central high schools raised $12,161 for Norton Children’s Hospital during the 9th annual Dance Little Red fundraiser at South Warren High School—featuring group dance lessons, testimonials and games like scooter races, musical chairs and water pong.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Volunteers in Action accepts nominations for its 35th annual Volunteers of the Year Awards sponsored by local organizations. The awards ceremony will be held Sunday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at the Warren County Public Library (Bob Kirby Branch), with nominations due by Friday, March 27.  WNKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kentucky colleges saw a 5% rise in undergraduate enrollment from fall 2024 to fall 2025 (6% gains at community colleges and private institutions, 3% at public universities), surpassing the national 1% growth and supporting goals to boost working-age college credentials.  WCLU Radio
  • Jonesville Academy honors a legacy of a historic Black community that once filled the WKU area with families, churches and schools. Launched in 2021, it offers academic enrichment, mentorship and leadership for students through tie ceremonies that symbolize respect and community bonds.  WNKY
  • Today, Natcher Elementary School hosted a Black History Month showcase where WKU Black Greek organizations performed dances and shared a history presentation for preschool through sixth-grade students. Organizers said the event aimed to expose children to cultural history (and inspire future leaders) in our community.  WNKY

  • WKU Hilltopper Basketball beat New Mexico State 90 to 73 on Thursday at E.A. Diddle Arena. The win marks the team's fifth straight victory and their starting lineup remains unbeaten at 6 to 0 in season play, with five players scoring in double figures.  WNKY
  • The Warren Central Dragons won the KHSAA Boys’ District 14 title with a 70-46 victory over the South Warren Spartans on Friday, Feb. 27 at Warren Central High School.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • After winning the District 14 tournament, the Bowling Green girls’ basketball team will face Monroe County for the Region 4 Tournament starting Sunday at 3 p.m. at E.A. Diddle Arena — marking their first meeting since 2017.  Bowling Green Daily News
