  • Local historian Ray Buckberry delivered a special 30th anniversary reprint of a 1913 newspaper that features profiles of notable residents, local businesses and churches, plus highlights from historic events like a major 1911 fire and early industry details. EDUCATION NEWS

  • A state grant of $1.4 million will fund a reading interventionist at all five elementary schools in Logan County School District over the next four years.   • The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security warned Bowling Green residents about a new synthetic drug called Cychlorphine (ten times stronger than fentanyl) detected in central Kentucky and urged proper precaution when encountering unknown substances.  WBKO
  • Warren County Jail staff mourn former deputy jailer Ron Childers — who worked for 14 years — after he passed away this week, with jailer Stephen Harmon noting that 30 current staff valued his dedication.  WNKY

  • On Friday, WKU’s softball team scored 16 runs in a two-game sweep at the WKU Softball Complex, defeating Butler (9 to 0) and Western Michigan (7 to 2) as pitcher Maddy Wood earned her first shutout of the season.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • WKU Lady Topper won 70-65 over Middle Tennessee Saturday at E.A. Diddle Arena, with Salma Khedr scoring 20 points in a game that marked their second straight win. The team will travel for its final CUSA road contest later this week.  WNKY
