- ➤ Mardi Gras arrived downtown as Boogie Down Bourbon Street returned to host a festive event with live music, bourbon tastings, auction events, and New Orleans-inspired Cajun cuisine for CASA of South Central Kentucky — its annual fundraiser for supporting volunteer training for children in foster care. - ➤ The African-American Heritage Center in Franklin is keeping local Black history alive with exhibits, guided tours, and research opportunities at three sites (including a computer lab, library, and meeting rooms). It plans to help young people learn about the past and shape a better future. WNKY
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ WKU introduces plans to replace the old Douglas Keen and Hugh Poland Halls with a 1,000-bed complex atop the Hill. Construction will begin after final approval in late spring or early summer with the new building scheduled to open in fall 2028 — part of the Elevate WKU campus update. WNKY
- ➤ WKU’s Board of Regents approved 10 new academic programs, including Bachelor’s and Master’s in Disaster Science, at its Friday meeting, and the university reported net tuition revenue increased + $9.5 million.
