  • Hope House Ministries is expanding its Community 461 program by laying the foundations for eight new affordable apartments next to its treatment facility, and families are expected to move in by August. The program supports men and women in recovery who need stable housing to help reunify with loved ones.  WNKY
  • Bike Walk BG is leading a community bike ride this weekend. Riders will gather at the Great American Donut Shop for coffee and donuts before starting the ride + adjustments may be made if winter weather develops.  WNKY

CULTURE NEWS

  • Members of Bowling Green's historic ladies' literary club, founded in the 1800s, gathered at News 40 for fellowship + a presentation by Ashlee Wilson Quinn, continuing a long tradition of sharing the power of books and connection.  WNKY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Snow is forecast to be the main weather event as a significant winter storm is projected for this weekend. Some freezing rain may begin on Wednesday north of the Western Kentucky Parkway, and shoveling may soon be needed.  WBKO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Woodburn Fire Department held its annual meeting Tuesday night in Bowling Green, reviewing a 23% increase in 2025 runs and expecting more service calls in 2026 due to growth from a new elementary school, Publix and rising traffic. HEALTH NEWS

  • A local survey finds teen use of nicotine pouches is rising and Life Skills Regional Prevention Center (which works with local schools) is warning about health risks like nausea, drowsiness and addiction as schools struggle to address hidden pouches.  WBKO

  • After an 81-65 loss Saturday, WKU hosts Liberty in a 6:30 p.m. game at E.A. Diddle Arena today. The Hilltoppers hope a strong student crowd (and solid play) will boost their bid for a Conference USA title.  Bowling Green Daily News
