- ➤ Meals Inc. delivered over 13,000 meals in 2025 to local residents and will add 30 to 35 weekly meals through a new partnership in 2026 — it will also strengthen ties with Feeding America after opening a new warehouse in Bowling Green. WNKY
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Downtown's Capitol Theater began as a 1890s saloon and turned into a film and vaudeville venue before being renamed in 1921. Citizens revived it in 1981, and in 2021 the Warren County Public Library took over, as it now hosts events, a mini-library, and serves as a warming center. WBKO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Award-winning academic Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of Malcolm X, will lead a free Q&A talk moderated by Western Kentucky University professor Selena Sanderfer Doss at the Capitol today at 3 p.m. Attendees may receive one of 200 copies of her new book, Growing Up X. WBKO

- ➤ BGFD conducted training for crews and recruits last night in a restricted space between Chestnut & State Streets and Kiss Me Quick Ave near the WKU Environmental Science and Technology building; fire units and lights were active from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. WNKY
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ T.J. Samson Community Hospital and T.J. Health Columbia were designated as Level IV Trauma Centers, meeting state standards for staffing, training, and EMS coordination. They now provide 24/7 trauma evaluation and stabilization — a milestone that strengthens emergency care in south central Kentucky. WBKO
- ➤ The American Red Cross partners with the Workforce Development Board, Goodwill Opportunity Center and International Center to offer free Spanish-language CPR and first aid courses for the Latino community on Jan. 24 and Jan. 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Goodwill Opportunity Center on U.S. 31-W Bypass. - ➤ LifeSkills, Inc. is now a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that will expand mental health and substance use services across 18 counties + provide extended hours and added staff, announced by LifeSkills and Pennyroyal Center. Current clients will continue to receive care as services expand through 2026. WNKY
- ➤ Graves Gilbert Clinic announced a two-year agreement with Humana that will let Humana members keep receiving primary and specialty care in south-central Kentucky starting March 1. The contract keeps current provider networks in place and resolves past disputes. WBKO
