  • Farmers Bank and Trust is set to expand along Nashville Road with new branches in Franklin and Bowling Green. Construction on the Franklin site will begin in 2026 with an opening planned for early next year, while the Bowling Green branch is scheduled for mid-2027.  WBKO

CULTURE NEWS

  • Warren County Public Library will host reality TV star Sean Lowe for a conversation on Monday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. at The Capitol — he will share his insights on television, family life and faith during the open event with free entry.  WNKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Chesterton Academy announced on Tuesday that Dr. Tom Stewart, a 30-year educator from Bowling Green, is the new headmaster — he will review applications, hire teachers, and prepare the school at St. Joseph Catholic Church for its August opening.  WNKY
  • Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana will launch the 2026 cookie season on Jan. 12 with the new Exploremores, a rocky-road ice cream & cookie flavor that supports local programs. Cookie booths will begin on Mar. 6, and orders will open through Digital Cookie.  WBKO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City Commission met to review the Parks and Rec master plan, discussing how new trails, improved connectivity and facility upkeep will boost local parks. Riverfront Park’s phase one construction began Tuesday — a step that sets the stage for phase two and FY27 budget planning.  WNKY
  • Applications for the spring edition of the Strategic Neighborhood Grants are available and offer up to $6,000 for neighborhood improvements. Homeowners, renters, and local organizations may apply until Jan. 31 as approved projects will be funded at the first city commission meeting in March.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • Three former Hilltoppers have key roles in the College Football Playoffs.
