- ➤ Downtown BGKY reflected on 2025’s success with over 1.4 million visitors and the launch of Downtown Academy with WKU, and is preparing for 2026 with plans for phase two of Riverfront Park (construction begins in spring) and a planned 250th celebration for America. WNKY
- ➤ Cave Country Trails invites locals to join public workshops on a new John Muir trail — the first meeting is Jan. 7 at 4 p.m. at the Rotunda Room at the Lodge at Mammoth Cave to gather community input. WNKY
- ➤ Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland has announced food distributions set for 2026 to help local residents through food pantries (providing extra support in times of need). The nonprofit works with community agencies across 42 counties to connect people with essential resources. WNKY
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Med Center Health is accepting entries for its 34th Women in the Arts Exhibit through Feb. 13. The two-day event will be held at The Medical Center-WKU Health Sciences Complex on March 13 and 14 - featuring awards for outstanding artwork. WBKO
- ➤ The National Corvette Museum is planning a busy 2026 with the Driven to Preserve exhibit opening Mar. 12 and the return of the R8C Reunion from June 25-27, while a new 66,000 sqft facility under construction is expected to finish by fall so it can open in 2027. Bowling Green Daily News

- ➤ Downtown Bowling Green saw more than 1.4 million visitors in 2025, prompting city officials to plan targeted initiatives for 2026 including Riverfront Park construction & new programming to better engage residents throughout Warren County. Officials emphasize improved data tracking & marketing to boost downtown visits. WBKO
- ➤ Low-income residents are now eligible for LIHEAP to get help with home heating emergencies. The program accepts applications in all 120 counties and pays benefits directly to energy companies, processing requests on a first come — first served basis. WBKO
