  • Race organizers attracted a record 551 runners for the annual Frozen Four race to support an injured student, exceeding their goal of 400. The event reflects growing community support in Bowling Green.  WBKO
  • Goodwill Kentucky’s Opportunity Center at the U.S. 31-W Bypass now serves more people in need by offering career coaching, employment training and financial support.   • The 15th annual Frozen Four race held Saturday morning attracted a record 551 participants to support 17-year-old Mason Davis following his 2024 car accident + race organizers exceeded their goal to raise funds for costs not covered by insurance.  WBKO

  • Ronnie Smith retired from the Farmers RECC board in December after 17 years of service in roles including chairman, secretary/treasurer, and vice chairman + President Toby Moss praised his dedication to representing District III.  WBKO

  • WKU women’s basketball lost 75-48 to Jacksonville State in a Conference USA opener Friday in Jacksonville, Alabama and will face Kennesaw State Sunday at 1:00 p.m. after the team struggled on the road despite nine players scoring.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • The Bowling Green Purples secured a 72-47 win over Allen County Scottsville at BG High School on Saturday, Jan. 3 while the Lady Purples lost 38-30 to Hopkins County Central in the German American Bank Shootout.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • After a weather cancellation delayed their schedule, Warren Central’s boys’ basketball team played its first home game by defeating Bowling Green 69-45 in the District 14 opener—showing strong defense that helped the team overcome early setbacks.
