About this event
We are writing to invite you and your students to attend a FREE concert of the WKU Symphonic Band at SkyPAC on Thursday, November 19th at 7:30 pm. The concert, “From Darkness to Light” will feature music of Hope, Humanity, and Renewal. The program includes:
Fanfare and Chorale by Bennie Beach (former WKU music faculty member) Allegro Partita by David Holsinger Over the Moon by Frank Ticheli (commissioned by Kentucky College/University Bands) “Lyra” from Summer Triangle by Yukiko Nishimura featuring Dr. John Cipolla, saxophone Before the Dawn by David Biedenbender With Malice Toward None by John Williams featuring Dr. Sarah Herbert, trumpet "Allegro con brio" from Symphony No. 3 by Vittorio Giannini Opa! by Julie Giroux
This may be the finest Symphonic Band during my tenure at WKU. The band has a beautiful warm sound and exceptional technical prowess. PLEASE JOIN US ON NOVEMBER 19th.
